Gurmesh Singh, MP
Member for Coffs Harbour
NSW Parliament.
Dianne has been the Chair of the Export Council of Australia for 7 years and has a long and varied career in international trade promotion and facilitation. She has over 40 years of experience in both business ownership and international project management. Dianne is the founder and Managing Director of Excon International Pty Ltd, a consultancy established in 1982 that focuses on facilitating movement of goods across borders and managing international projects on behalf of Australian exporters.
Dr Jim Taggart is a Chairman, Non-Executive Committee (Audit & Risk) Member, and Financial Services Professional with over 30 years of Board level experience across the public, private (finance planning, investment, development) and community (Church, local area support and fundraising) sectors.
He is a third-generation Coffs local, raising two young children with his wife in the most beautiful part of NSW.
Gurmesh grew up in a farming family from Woolgoolga and is proud to have lived and worked on the North Coast. He graduated as Dux from Woolgoolga High School and studied Industrial Design at UNSW. Gurmesh has previously worked in marketing and advertising and in farming.
Harriet Diana Richards
Head of Corporate Affairs Australia and New Zealand

Harriet has lived and worked in Australia, India, and Indonesia. After diplomatic postings in Delhi and Jakarta Harriet consulted to Indonesian national/state governments and a major Indonesian conglomerate. Living in Delhi and Chennai, Harriet developed a World Bank project for the Indian government and worked in an Indian company planning new services for India’s corporate sector. Harriet’s MA (Merit) in Asian Studies from Sydney University majored in Indian Philosophy and included a Postgraduate Law Prize in Asian Legal Systems.
Jodi McKay MP
Former Member for Strathfield
Raised in the small town of Gloucester in country NSW, Jodi was an award-winning Newcastle journalist before moving into the private and non-for-profit sectors. She was one of the founding members of the Hunter Medical Research Institute and has been a non-executive director on a variety of health, research and advocacy boards.
John Madew
Head of Group Client Services Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade)
John Madew is Head of Group Client Services at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade). In this role he is responsible for delivery of personalised services at scale for Austrade clients via events, e-commerce, the TradeStart partnership and in-bound channel response.
From 2016 to 2020 John held a leadership role in Austrade’s South Asia operation. In 2019 - 2020 he led the South Asia region as General Manager in New Delhi driving trade, investment and education promotion across India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh with 60 staff over 10 locations. During his time in India he was also Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner based in Mumbai where he led the Australian Government investment attraction activities across South Asia.
Kylie Bell

Previously, Kylie worked for EY and the Australian Trade & Investment Commission.

The Hon Lisa Singh

Lisa Singh is a former Australian Senator and was the first woman of South Asian heritage to be elected to the Australian Parliament. She is currently the Director of the Australia India Institute and the Deputy Chair of the Australian Government’s Australia-India Council. As an influential professional, Lisa has been advancing Australia’s social and economic ties with India and the wider Indo-Pacific for the past decade. In 2014 she was awarded the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman by the President of India for building friendly Australia-India relations, the highest civilian honour for a person of Indian origin.
Michelle Wade

Michelle is a highly experienced international trade official and has undertaken senior Australian diplomatic postings in Italy, Malaysia and Spain. Michelle is currently based in Bengaluru, India and oversees Victorian government’s promotion of trade, investment and education across South Asia. In 2020, Michelle led Victoria’s Covid response to international students, the $45m International Student Emergency Relief Fund. She grew up in the small town of Woolgoolga, home to Australia's first Sikh community, and has a Bachelor of Arts from University of Queensland and Postgraduate qualifications in Applied Law (UQ) and Business Communications (QUT).
Mitu Bhowmick

Mitu is the Director of Mind Blowing Films a film production and distribution company that specialises in the distribution of Indian films in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. It also provides local production support to Indian films shot in Australia and New Zealand. She is also the director of Mind Blowing World, an independent film distribution company that specialises in the distribution of quality local content to Australian, New Zealand and Fiji audiences.
Nick Hockley

Nick was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Cricket Australia in June 2021 after leading Australian cricket through the early stages of the pandemic as interim CEO. Previously, Nick held key executive roles with the organising committees for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, and as CEO of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 where records were shattered for the biggest women’s sporting event in Australia.
Nick’s focus now shifts towards welcoming England to Australian shores for the men’s and women’s Ashes series which headline a massive upcoming summer of cricket. Following that, Nick and his team continue to look forward to the next Australian cricket strategy, along with preparing for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 on Australian soil where all of Australia is set to unite.
Sai Sudha Chandrasekaran

Sai Sudha has rich experience ranging from operations, strategy, investments and marketing from start-ups to national level organisations. She worked in a health care start-up in the USA from 2010-2012, following which she worked and lived in Hong Kong for 7 years where she co-founded 3 start-ups across various fields. She returned back to India in 2019 and joined Invest India where she serves as the Senior AVP. Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and facilitation agency set up under aegis of DPIIT (Ministry of Commerce), Government of India.
Simon Taufel

Simon Taufel has been a community and international cricket umpire for over 30 years. During this time, he has also contributed to other not-for-profit organisations such as PCYC, Highlands District Cricket Association, MCC, the Bradman Foundation, and Sport Australia. Prior to his sporting career, Simon was an operations manager in the printing industry for ten years. These days, Simon is a founding partner of Integrity Values Leadership and author of “Finding the Gaps,” allowing him to support others in developing their soft skills and sharing many learned high-performance traits that saw him recognised as the ICC Umpire of the Year for five consecutive years.
Tony Huber

Mr Huber leads the Non-Tariff Barriers Coordination Section in Agriculture and Non-Tariff Barriers Branch of the DFAT Office of Trade Negotiations. His team is implementing the whole-of-government NTB Action Plan. Mr Huber was formerly Australia’s Consul General in Mumbai 2016-20. He led advocacy and representation, analysis, reporting, advice, delivering Australian government services, and strengthening Australia’s business and people links. His teams drove implementation of Australia’s India Economic Strategy and shaped contemporary understandings of Australia across the Western region of India.
