The India Australia Business and Community Awards (IABCA) provides a national platform to recognise the significant contributions of members of the Indian–Australian community to shaping our nation’s future. They are entrepreneurial and hardworking members of local communities right across Australia. Indian–Australians also provide the backbone for the Australia-India relationship.

 

Today, they are one of the fastest-growing communities in Australia—a trend which I am confident will continue. We welcome the sustained and valuable contributions made by the Indian diaspora to building economic ties between our two nations, particularly as we work to recover from COVID-19. As a former member of the advisory council, I welcome the IABCA’s initiative in hosting this award and commend the nominees for their continued efforts to bring Australia and India closer together, now and into the future.
