On behalf of the Government and people of Western Australia, I commend the India

Australia Business and Community Alliance on its role in building awareness and

understanding between the peoples and institutions of Australia and India. The Indian diaspora greatly enrich Western Australia s cultural diversity, with people born in India the third largest overseas-born resident population in our State in 2021.

In line with Western Australia’s Asian Engagement Strategy to 2030, our Government is

focused on expanding and diversifying our State’s engagement with India. In July 2022, I

was proud to lead Western Australia’s largest ever business delegation mission on

investment and trade to India, accompanied by more than 100 representatives. The mission played a vital role in further strengthening government, industry and people-to-people ties between Western Australia and India. We continue to build on these efforts.
