2023 IABCA India Immersion Program

In 2023 India Australia Business & Community Alliance celebrates its 10th Year.

​

To mark this milestone, IABCA in collaboration with Australian High Commission New Delhi, Austrade, our state government partner, Investment NSW established an international footprint by delivering it's inaugural IABCA Showcase in India, across a five-day India Immersion Program.

Following the recent ratification of the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA) , IABCA has  become a biennial initiative, taking place across our two nations. 2024 iteration of IABCA will take place in Australia.

IABCA continued to navigate Australia’s relationship with India through our people-to-people links.

2023 IABCA Parliamentary Roundtable

Hosted kindly by Dr Andrew Charlton MP, Chair of Parliamentary Friends of India, the roundtable gathered industry leaders across various sectors from India and Australia to reflect on best practices that can further engagement and innovation.

 

The IABCA RoundTable was held in the presence of His Excellency Manpreet Vohra, High Commissioner of India to Australia, Ambassador Harinder Sidhu, Former High Commissioner of Australia to India, Swati Dave, Chair, Centre For Australia India Relations and IABCA Advisory Tejjas Parmar, CEO – International Business, Suzlon Energy Australia Pty Ltd.

Thank You to IABCA Alliance Partner Australia India Youth Dialogue (AIYD), our facilitator for the Roundtable Discussion Dr. Bodean Hedwards, for enabling key insights and assisting with this roundtable discussion.

We look forward to supporting growth stories of our IABCA Alumni and our continued engagement with Stakeholders in 2023, many of who made their inaugural visit to Parliament of Canberra and witnessed Question Time in the Chambers.

IABCA Awards Ceremony & Silver Service Gala Dinner

The IABCA Awards Ceremony showcased the diversity and talent of our industry sectors while strengthening and celebrating the organisations and business leaders from across the globe who are advancing the India-Australia relationship.

​

IABCA Awards was pleased to welcome Australian Artist, Heather Lee, Aria Award Winner (Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards are the top Music awards of Australia) and Globally Renowned Opera Singer at the Ceremony. Heather is one of the few Australian's who can perform the Indian National Anthem in Hindi.

​

The Awards Ceremony also welcomed Media and TV Personality, Kartik Mohandas as our Master of Ceremonies for the showcase.

An Artistic First Nations Business Experience 

The IABCA  provided indivduals the opportunity to view and experience brand aligned physical and digital artworks by Indigenous Cultural Ambassador & Brand Partner, Danielle Mate, who travelled to India as part of the IABCA India Immersion Showcase.

​

A descendant of the Murrawari people through her
Mother’s maternal side, and Euahlayi people through her
Mother’s paternal grandmother, Danielle has created a
name for herself within the global art world.

 

These artworks are conversation starters, and uniquely Australian and show how culture, art and commercial ventures can align to create and achieve a unique point of difference and
recognise first nations people.

Written by Karin Steininger, famous for editing Oscar and Emmy winning documentaries, this diverse Australian film features some of the biggest Bollywood stars and Australian community, film and political leaders, as the audience discover the history, artistry, song, dances, controversies, and unique characters that led to Bollywood taking Australia, and the world, by storm.

 

IABCA Global Leaders Forum guests  witnessed the first ever inside look of this world premiere of the film releasing later this year.

Visit to India’s largest temple, Akshardham Temple of New Delhi

A Cultural Afternoon exploring Indian Heritage and traditional architecture at as part of the IABCA India Immersion Showcase, 16 February.

 

The Sahaj Anand Water Show was a breath-taking 24-minute presentation which unites a variety of intriguing media to bring to life a story from the Kena Upanishad. Multi-color lasers, video projections, underwater flames, water jets and surround sound in symphony with lights and live actors produce a captivating and inspiring presentation.

An Opportunity to engage with The Border-Gavaskar Tour of India 2023 on Friday 17 February in Delhi, part of the IABCA India Immersion Showcase

Australia to face India at world’s biggest stadium as Border-Gavaskar fixtures confirmed. India vs Australia Tests had previously been played in Delhi in 2013 and 2008, while Nagpur last hosted Australia in 2008.
