IABCA CEREMONY - 2021 Winners Honoured

Meeting of Minds 2021

The India Australia Business & Community Awards iwas attended by over 600 guests on Friday 14 May 2021.

This meeting of minds ceremony recognised outstanding businesses and professionals for their monumental contributions to the India-Australia relationship.


The IABCA Ceremony in 2021 was held in the presence of Hon Julian Leeser MP, Member for Berowra and Chair Parliamentary Friends of India, representing The Hon Scott Morrison MP, Prime Minster of Australia and His Excellency Shri Manpreet Vohra, High Commissioner of India to Australia and Senator the Hon Kristina Keneally, Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Senate representing the Hon Anthony Albanese MP Leader of the Opposition.


Winners of the IABCA 2021 across 18 categories were announced.

Gumaroy Newman Didgeridoo Solo

IABCA are proud to welcome Gumaroy, one of the most talented didge players in the country. Gumaroy is also an indigenous storyteller, presenter, educator, songman and poet.


A proud descendant of the Gamilaroi and Wakka Wakka nations, Gumaroy has performed in over 40 countries and is regularly called upon for major Australian events.

Experience the Spirit of Cricket with Steve Waugh

IABCA are proud to present an exclusive opportunity to meet with one of Australia’s greatest ever Test Cricketing Captains, Steve Waugh, who will be hosting a one time exhibition for his new book, ‘The Spirit of Cricket – India!’


The exhibition will feature some incredible imagery from Steve’s numerous trips across India. The book itself includes 220 images that are Steve’s favourites from among the tens of thousands that he has captured during his travels to the spiritual home of cricket.


There will also be opportunities to meet & greet and purchase signed copies of the Spirit of Cricket – India.


Meet NASA’s 2011 Curiosity Mars Rover.

IABCA is pleased to collaborate with Powerhouse Museum in bringing to the IABCA Leaders Forum, one-quarter scale replicas of the US space agency NASA’s 2011 Curiosity Mars Rover. Powerhouse operates this within school and public education programs.

Designed and built in-house using open source plans shared by NASA, the replicas are constructed using 3D printed parts and off-the-shelf components, and programmable electronics including the open-source languages for Arduino and Raspberry Pi along with Unity.

Fabrics of India Runway Show

Fabrics of India Runway Show presents Meera by Poornima Sharma. Meera was conceived in 2018, a brand with an empowering message; you decide who you want to be and let your actions speak for you.


More than a fashion label, Meera will showcase live at the IABCA Gala the wonderful diversity of fabrics that India has to offer through the Raghunritya Collection. The collection will feature fabrics such as Handspun Khadi Cotton, Block Prints on Khadi Mercerised Cotton, Chikankari Sarees, Kantha Work, Linen.


IABCA Wellness & Meditation Session

In today's contemporary and fast-paced lifestyle, mental health and the ability to truly control ones mind and emotions has never been more important.


IABCA are proud to announce that as part of our 2021 Awards Gala program, guests will be treated to a guided Wellness and Meditation Session from world renowned Yoga Practitioner, Yogi Chauhan! Mother-Daughter Duo

Manjula Viswanath and Sagarika Venkat are a mother-daughter combination who specialise in the classical dance form of Bharatnaytam. 


Sagarika began dancing at the young age of four and by the age of seven, was confidently delivering solo performances that were able to resonate and move large audiences.


Throughout her journey, her Guru and Mother Manjula has been her pillar and support system.  Witness this mother and daughter duo come together in live performance at the 2021 IABCA Gala!

Tribute to COVID-19 Warriors

IABCA welcomes  Australia’s largest Bollywood Dance Academy to the Ceremony who are on a mission to share the diversity of our Indian culture with the Australian community through performing arts and dance forms.


Join lead Choreographer and Master Instructor Vihang, who has been in the Entertainment Industry for over 20 years as he takes you on a journey with a specially choreographed dance routine to pay tribute to COVID-19 Warriors.

Apart from touring to perform at International Events across India, Dubai, South Africa and many other cities, He  has trained 400 dancers to perform in Commonwealth Closing Ceremony in Melbourne 2006 and worked in collaboration with City of Melbourne and Indian Film Festival to create a Guinness world record for the Largest Bollywood Dance class taught overseas in the year 2011
